At first glance, I expected the mobile version of Contraband Police to be a direct port of the PC game. However, it has very little resemblance to the original version, differing in numerous aspects. This is particularly disappointing because PlayWay SA has previously delivered decent mobile ports of their PC games. While not entirely complete, titles like Thief Simulator Mobile managed to retain the essence of the original gameplay. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Contraband Police for mobile.
One of the most glaring issues is the excessive presence of ads during gameplay. As shown in various gameplay videos, the frequency of these ads significantly disrupts the experience. There are many ways to integrate ads into a game without interfering with the core gameplay, and sadly, this title fails to implement them effectively.
The gameplay itself is overly simplified compared to the PC version. You don’t have much freedom; actions are reduced to simply clicking on the screen, making it feel more like a basic tycoon game. In this format, you resolve small problems and gradually level up your “business.” While this isn’t inherently bad for a specific audience, it becomes problematic when you use the name of a popular PC game for a mobile version. This raises expectations for something at least close to the original experience, which this game fails to deliver.
The lack of depth and freedom, coupled with the overwhelming ad interruptions, results in a frustrating experience for fans of the PC version. As a standalone tycoon game, it might appeal to casual players, but as a supposed port of Contraband Police, it falls significantly short.
Final Score: 1.5

oh, I really liked this on PC and saw today here on TapTap, but they failed to deliver. I'll this when they either add a ad-free version (paid) and make it full fledged port. Thank you for your in depth review.
