Ex Astris Review – A Stunning Sci-Fi RPG with Engaging Combat
This is Ex Astris: A science fiction role-playing game developed by Hypergryph, the creators of Arknights, dealing with its controversial single-player experience built with turn-based combat, beautiful graphics, and excellent narrative. All that for its well-polished experience of RPG at a starting price of ₱580.00. But does it really meet the expectations?
Plot & Setting
The game thrusts you into a different future filled with a lot of mystery and adventure. You walk into a age to learn the truth about the enormous cosmic phenomena and meet different characters on the way. The storytelling is endearing, and it certainly has a well-formed lore as well as the discovery factor so that you could feel it, as well.
Gameplay & Combat
Ex Astris combines turn-based systems with real-time action elements, allowing battles to be more involving. Players must time their attacks, dodges, and counters to maximize effectiveness. The system is therefore strategic yet fluid, exciting and different from the run-of-the-mill turn-based RPG.
Another thing that could make exploration a little more special or enjoyable. Semi-open-world regions provide puzzles, side missions, and lore-rich locations to explore.
Visuals & Sound
For the game's aesthetics, Ex Astris is an eye candy. The character designs are really well defined, merging both sci-fi and fantastic elements within the environments. The soundtrack of the game complements the atmosphere within the game, creating emotional and epic musical scores that can cause total immersion.
Thou shalt learn all that comes until the full October th of the year two thousand twenty-three.
Pros and cons:
✅Pros:
✅Stunning Art and Animation Beautifully developed character models and impressive environments make it a world alive.
✅Combat System: Innovative turn-and-real-time engaging interplay keeps battle alive.
✅Storytelling Deep narration- sweet store content rich with a lot of interesting lore and character interaction.
✅Ample opportunity with side-scenery for viewing-the mostly-open world spaces that act as incentives for players to explore new side stories.
❌Cons:
❌Pricey'- the costs reach that of almost 580.00 pesos, and that may be unaffordable to many mobile players.
❌Slow pace- there are some parts of the story or even the progression of gameplay that might feel a bit lagging.
❌Replay value: Although content-rich, it lacks the major motivating forces to encourage playing more than once length.
Final verdict
Ex Astris is a stunning, eye candy RPG that strikes a balance between turn-based and real-time combat; rich and profound storytelling, and world creation; and brilliant art direction and engaging mechanics that make it stand out among mobile RPGs. But there's a price to play-the tag, coupled with occasional pacing hiccups, could deter some players. It is definitely a single-player experience par excellence; however, it lacks a little bit of replayability. It is worth buying if you are one of those who likes to indulge themselves in a vast narrative game with strategy-packed combat and don't mind paying up for it. All in all, it is a high-quality RPG that keeps its promise and therefore a good option for sci-fi and adventure fans.
